WHY EVERYONE IS REPLAYING GTA 5 BEFORE GTA 6
Thirteen years old — and yet GTA 5's servers have never felt more alive than this September 2026. Less than three months from GTA 6, millions of players — me first, live four nights a week — are diving back into Los Santos. It's not a coincidence: it's a ritual.
1. Saying goodbye to Los Santos
GTA 5 is a generational game: released in 2013, ported across three console generations, over 200 million copies sold. When GTA 6 sets up shop in Vice City on November 19, a page turns. Replaying the story of Michael, Franklin and Trevor today is like re-reading a beloved book before the sequel drops: everything tastes different when you know an era is ending.
2. Getting your hands back in the engine
Driving, aiming, heists, the online economy: GTA is a language, and it needs re-learning. Players arriving in Vice City with sharpened reflexes will get far more out of those first hours — and trust me, the first hours of a new GTA only happen once. That's exactly what my current sessions are for: keeping the machine warm for day one.
3. Hype is better shared
Replaying GTA 5 in 2026 is really about joining a giant worldwide waiting room where everyone's talking about the same thing: trailers dissected frame by frame, Jason-and-Lucia theories, bets on the map of Leonida. That collective anticipation is already part of the game. And it's exactly the vibe of my streams right now: we play GTA 5, we talk GTA 6, and the chat rebuilds the world.
How to dive back in properly
- Replay the story mode — especially if you haven't touched it in 10 years: it aged better than you think.
- Grind the online heists — the best co-op content in the game, perfect training for GTA 6's online.
- Set a fun goal — 100% the story, build a dream garage, or just maximum chaos with friends.
- Live it with a community — GTA alone is good; GTA with a screaming chat is better.
